CQ STREETFEST Kicks Off at Clarke Quay

(SINGAPORE, April 17, 2024) Five days of electrifying performances and family-friendly entertainment by world-renowned street artists all over the world has kicked off at Clarke Quay!

“We are here to create an exciting atmosphere that will thrill all members of the family, the youngest to the oldest. It is universal fun for everyone,” said Rob Roy Collins, the UK’s premier escapologist as he introduced the stars of the show at Fountain Square, CQ @ Clarke Quay Wednesday afternoon. 

CQ Streetfest is organised by CQ @ Clarke Quay in conjunction with  Covent Garden Entertainment featuring 45 shows spanning five days from Wednesday to Sunday from 6:00pm to 10:30pm. Additionally, there are matinee performances on the weekends from noon to 1:30pm. Be sure not to miss the grand reopening of CQ @ Clarke Quay and the exhilarating festivities of CQ Streetfest.

Rob Roy Collins, the UK’s premier escapologist, headlines the event. He is renowned for his Guinness World Record-breaking feats and daring stunts. Collins, whose performances include gravity-defying straitjacket escapes and handcuff challenges, captivates audiences with his unparalleled showmanship and humor. Rob relates that after he obtained his law degree he told his parents that he wanted to give that up to become a street performer. He didn’t give an exact quote from his parents, but since then they have come to understand why he wanted to take the path he did. 

Joining him is Richard Garaghty, the beloved entertainer from Covent Garden who resides in Italy, known for his comedic juggling routines and remarkable skills on a 10-foot unicycle. With appearances on esteemed platforms like Dumbo, Doctor Who and Star Wars, Garaghty is set to enchant spectators with his infectious energy and crowd-pleasing antics.

Adedance Artistic & Aerial Productions Pte Ltd is an aerial and dance-focused performance agency operating in Singapore. Company founder and Artistic Director Adelene Chua-Adams (below left) has trained, performed and taught workshops all over the world. Her resume includes stints in New York and Hong Kong, Aerial performances at major events like Zouk Out, several musicals, choreography and management of the dancers for Kobe Bryant's Asia Tour, and she was also the Head of Dance for the School of Musical Theatre in Singapore. 

Hailing from Australia, the enigmatic Satya Bella (above centre) brings a mesmerizing display of hula hooping prowess, blending grace, flexibility, and multi-hooping mastery garnered from performances across 42 countries worldwide. 

From Japan, Akira (above right) astounds with his high-energy act combining dance, DJ mixing, and live artwork creation, promising an unforgettable sensory experience for spectators of all ages. 

Pancho Libre, originating from Mexico City, showcases his acrobatic finesse on the cyr wheel and pole, embodying the spirit of global street performance with his infectious charm and skillful technique. 

CQ Streetfest  kick starts the metamorphosis of  CQ @ Clarke Quay into a vibrant day to night destination, offering a plethora of activities for both locals and tourists to enjoy.
