AYANA KOMODO RESORT KICKS OFF 2019 WITH STRONG SUPPORT FOR KOMODO NATIONAL PARK RANGERS

Flores Island, Indonesia January 2019 - On 11 January, AYANA Komodo Resort, Waecicu Beach symbolically donated 344 new uniforms for 86 rangers and naturalist guides at Komodo National Park on Rinca Island as part of the resort’s expansive corporate social responsibility program. 

Uniforms were personally presented by Mr. Fernando Arroyo, General Manager of AYANA Komodo Resort to leaders of Komodo National Park: Mr. Vinsensius Latif, Chief of KSU; Mr. Sasotyo Jati, Area Coordinator of KSU and Mr. Tebursio Da Costa, Forest Ecosystem Controller. Thirty-three rangers attended the event and received brand new uniforms including shirts, trousers, and hats to support their professional grooming when guiding the visitors.

 

Starting this February, AYANA staff members will organize an ‘Excellent Service’ hospitality training sessions for the rangers, as well as language classes to help guides with their English skills. Training sessions will be held at the rangers’ huts on Rinca Island every six months to ensure top notch service is experienced when visiting Komodo National Park. 

In addition to new uniforms and ongoing service training, AYANA Komodo Resort has pledged to continue support Komodo National Park. AYANA’s corporate responsibility team is currently working on a project to renovate and rebuild toilet facilities within the park to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff alike.
