(22 November 2022, Singapore)   Jurong Play Grounds (JPG), Singapore’s lifestyle precinct in the west for families and pets, announces their official opening after a change of management late last year. Carved out of previously under-utilised open fields, JPG boasts some of Singapore’s most unique and large-space retail and activity concepts for families - fur and plant parents included! JPG is 15 minutes walk from Jurong East MRT.

The grounds boast a mixed use commercial development of 355,000sqft and a large park for recreational and communal activities. The park currently hosts a community garden, a public dog run and a 45,000sqft open field for events of up to 10,000 people. Under the ownership of Hua Hng Trading, sister company to World Farm Garden Centre, and one of Singapore’s largest and most established wholesale and retail garden centres, JPG’s creative use of the space has turned it into the newest lifestyle destination precinct for Singaporeans.

Outdoor Fun and Sun with Singapore’s Largest Dog Water Park and Largest Padel Facilitiy

Outfitted at a cost of more than SGD 5 million and covering an area of approximately 5.6 football fields, this is, at present, one of Singapore’s largest lifestyle and communal facility with a good dose of outdoor sun and fun. With key tenants focusing on the family with family-centric activities such as Uncle Ringo’s funfair and carnival, Happy Fish Swim School for babies and toddlers, Al Capone’s 100-seater family and pets (the only outlet with a pet’s menu) diner, SingPadel, Singapore’s largest padel facility for the fastest growing game in Europe, and World Farm garden centre, the stroller and wheelchair-friendly grounds offers a relaxing day out for families.

The precinct is also a hit with pet owners and their pets with Wag and Wild’s dog water park, Urban Paws’ grooming and staycation facility, and the public dog run. A community garden, quaint butterfly garden and beautifully landscaped fish-feeding pond with over 50 different varieties of fresh water fishes and amphibians also provide families a chance to interact with nature. The community garden is open to hobby gardeners and urban farmers from all over Singapore who wish to rent a plot to either grow their own crops or have extra space to keep their rare collectible plants, with rent starting from S$500 a month.

“After 2 years of hard work and weathering the pandemic, we are glad to finally be able to officially launch Jurong Play Grounds,” says Mr Chua King Wah, PBM, Founder and Owner of Hua Hng Trading, and the overall master lessor of Jurong Play Grounds. “With the easing of safe measurement measures, we also opened our first Weekenders Market in October with 35 stalls to much public interest, particularly to those living in the west as well as pet owners looking for new activities for their pets. With this official launch, we hope to also be able to attract Singaporeans from all over Singapore to experience the unique offerings of JPG.”

JPG’s Weekenders Market will take place every second weekend of the month, with a different theme, as a combination between a farmer’s market and a crafter’s market, featuring local produce, home-made wares and different sorts of crafts, as well as produce from JPG’s own Community Garden farmers. Being a pet-focused centre, the Weekenders Market will also feature pet related products and services heavily. Stall rentals at the Weekenders Market start from S$120 for the entire weekend.

Jurong Play Grounds will continue to improve as the management looks to add more landscaped greenery, and more family and pet friendly activities in the coming months, including a semi-regular food truck park featuring well-known local food vendors, outdoor movie screenings, live music acts and the welcoming back of famous overseas night market concepts, bringing new experiences to not just Westsiders, but all of Singapore.

Jurong Play Grounds is located at 2 Jurong Gateway Road Singapore 608512 and parking is S$0.70/ 30 mins.
