Tennis star Caroline Wozniacki gets taste of Singapore
Star Promotes WTA Finals
Singapore Tourism Board Photos Singapore, 22 September 2015 – Tennis star Caroline Wozniacki was treated to a Singaporean adventure when she popped by to promote the upcoming BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global.
The tennis star – who played in the inaugural WTA Finals Singapore last year – spent two days (Sept 17 and 18) in the Lion City, learning more about its heritage, cuisine and leisure offerings.
During her time in Singapore, Ms. Wozniacki explored the local market and food centre in Tiong Bahru, before taking in the enclave’s architectural legacy from years gone by. She then took a walk through the historical Malay ethnic precinct of Kampong Glam, and performed on traditional Malay drums together with local performers NADI Singapura at the Malay Heritage Centre.
She also soaked up the fun at the island attraction Sentosa – taking a cable car ride and gliding across the island on a zip line at the MegaZip Adventure Park – and tried her hands at mixing a cocktail drink at 28 Hong Kong Street.Ms Wozniacki was also introduced to KEEPERS, a showcase of Singapore designers and artisans, and created her own piece of jewellery together with Singapore’s very own local designer Carrie K.The WTA Finals will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium from Oct 23 to Nov 1.
