For the Bay we Love 95 Volunteers Removed 617kg of Waste
(Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, June 14, 2026) Protecting one of the world's natural wonders, Vietnamese cruise operator Bhaya Cruises completed its annual Clean the Bay 2026: Green Promise For the Bay We Love initiative in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam.
Now in its 9th year, the campaign brought together 95 volunteers, travel industry partners & local stakeholders in a collective effort to safeguard the UNESCO World Heritage-listed destination.

The results were significant. In just a 2km stretch of the bay, participants collected 617 kilograms of waste, including 223kg of plastic, 190kg of discarded fishing nets, 172kg of polystyrene & 32kg of other debris.

Hosted aboard Au Co Cruise, the initiative featured kayaking & tender boat clean-ups, waste sorting, environmental impact recording & sustainability activities. Since launching in 2017, Clean the Bay has become a powerful example of how tourism operators can drive positive environmental change while inspiring travellers to play a role in protecting fragile marine ecosystems.
