Avani Hotels & Resorts is banning plastic straws at all of its hotels and resorts worldwide. The total ban re-affirms Avani’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability at each destination that it is situated in.

Avani understands that today’s traveller demands exciting and authentic experiences while visiting a destination, which includes supporting sustainable practices in local communities. Banning single-use plastic straws is just one step to achieving this. Now, every Avani will provide alternatives such as recyclable or biodegradable straws in every room, restaurant, bar, and outlet.

Avani is also adopting other sustainable practices throughout every property, such as zero waste in food management. Select Avani hotels, such as Avani+ Luang Prabang is also implementing zero-plastic or sustainable materials policies to reduce or eliminate plastic use, as well as offering eco-conscious bath amenities.

“We believe Avani guests seek to enjoy every destination fully, while still fostering a sustainable lifestyle. Avani fully embraces this commitment to preserving our global ecosystems to ensure our destinations maintain their allure for generations to come,” said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels, which owns Avani Hotels & Resorts.

Avani currently operates 24 hotels and resorts in 15 countries. The brand recently debuted in Australia, New Zealand, and Laos. Avani currently has 15 new hotels in the pipeline, including a recent signing in Kota Kinabalu, Dubai, Bangkok and a second Avani in Busan, South Korea.
