The Belitung Archipelago Moves Within Easy Reach of Singapore

Direct access to the Belitung Archipelago begins this May, placing Singapore travellers within easy reach of Indonesia’s ‘Seychelles of Asia’

(May 6, 2026 Singapore)  The Belitung Archipelago moves closer into view for Singapore travellers this May, as Scoot  introduces direct flights from Singapore to Belitung starting 3 May 2026, opening up one of Indonesia’s most quietly captivating coastal destinations, now under an hour’s flight from the city.

Operating twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays from 3 May 2026, the new service departs Singapore at 05:45, arriving in Belitung at 06:15, with the return flight departing Belitung at 06:50 and landing in Singapore at 09:30. The early morning departure allows travellers to arrive just as the island awakens, making the most of a full day within the Belitung Archipelago from the moment of arrival.

Set within the Belitung Archipelago, Tanjung Kelayang Reserve is defined by luminous turquoise waters, 200-million-year-old granite formations, and a landscape that remains largely preserved in its natural state. Often described as the ‘Seychelles of Asia’, the destination remains quietly under the radar, shaped less by development and more by a sense of restraint.

A quietly evolving sense of place shapes Tanjung Kelayang Reserve, where a considered mix of stays and experiences informs how travellers engage with the destination. Sheraton Belitung Resort offers a familiar level of comfort along the shoreline, while Billiton Ekobeach Retreat presents a more intimate, design-led retreat rooted in sustainability. Experiences across land and sea are curated by BlueMind Experience, from island-hopping journeys to coastal exploration that draws travellers closer to the surrounding environment.

To mark the launch of Scoot’s new route, Tanjung Kelayang Reserve introduces a limited-time offer designed around the early morning arrival. Travellers can enjoy guaranteed early check-in, breakfast upon arrival, and seamless airport transfers, allowing the experience to begin the moment they land. For Singapore travellers, this direct connection offers more than ease of access. It opens up an alternative to more saturated beach destinations, one where the pace is slower and the experience is shaped as much by open landscapes as it is by the sea.

From island-hopping across clear waters and snorkelling among untouched reefs, to cultural encounters and quiet coastal stays, Tanjung Kelayang Reserve invites a different kind of journey, grounded in space, simplicity, and a genuine connection to nature. With growing demand for short-haul escapes that offer both quality and a sense of distance, the Belitung Archipelago is set to emerge as a compelling new option for Singapore’s discerning travellers, now within easy reach yet still distinctly removed.
