Hanoi, 2 February 2020 – Vietnam Airlines announces that flights connecting Vietnam to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau will resume operation starting today in an effort to ferry stranded passengers at airports in Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau back home. This decision comes following permission from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to do so.

Flights between Vietnam and Taiwan will revert to normal operational status as of the 2nd of February. Those connecting Hanoi and HCMC to Hong Kong will be operational between the 2nd to the 5th of February, after which the Hanoi – Hong Kong route is to be resuspended. Though the route between HCMC and Hong Kong will still be operational after the 5th of February, it will be closely monitored for potential adjustments in flight frequency in response to travel demand. Flights between Hanoi and Macau will resume operation on the 2nd of February and be resuspended on the 5th of February.

Jetstar Pacific will continue operating flights between Hanoi and Hong Kong until the 5th of February, while flights between Vietnam and Taiwan will remain operational.

The national flag carrier is working closely with authorities and taking precautionary measures as recommended by the Government of Vietnam and the health sector to combat the spread of coronavirus for the safety of its passengers, flight crews, aircraft, technical equipment, ground service staff, and the broader community.

Vietnam Airlines will continue to monitor the situation and adopt the most appropriate measures in its service delivery accordingly.
