(Singapore - January 28, 2020) Tourism Western Australia is urging international visitors to keep their travel plans to Western Australia, which has been unaffected by Australia’s recent devastating bushfires. The agency is working to promote the message that the State continues to be open for business.
The bushfires to the east of the country have attracted international attention which has led to an inaccurate perception that the whole of the country is affected.
In some cases, international media coverage has misrepresented the geographical reach of the fires. This coverage has not reflected that Australia is a very large country, equivalent to the size of North America.
Visitors who have already booked, or are planning to travel to Western Australia, are encouraged to find out the most up-to-date information by going to www.australia.com/en/travel-alerts.html

Adds Tourism Western Australia Managing Director Brodie Carr: “Western Australia continues to be a safe and enjoyable holiday destination for international visitors, unaffected by the Australian bushfires. Western Australian attractions remain open and ready to welcome travellers.”
Paul Papalia, Western Australian Tourism Minister commented, “Our unique and diverse State is one of the most desired destinations in Australia for international visitors. “Australia is a huge country and it is tragic what is happening in some parts of Australia, but Western Australia is absolutely open for business.”
