Masks have long been a part of many cultures throughout the world. The Balinese, from their culture rooted in animism, in Mexico, in Day of the Dead festivities, in many African cultures to the Fire Dancers of Papua New Guinea (see Kate Webster’s story here.)

In The Year of Covid-19 masks have become controversial and even political. There are those who feel their rights are being taken  away from them when governments make the wearing of them mandatory.

Others choose to accept the scientific evidence that masks help prevent the spread of Covid-19, and regardless of whether they      are comfortable or not, they wear them in public.

We are in the group that likes to have Fun With Masks. People have come to use them as an expression of their individuality or to  convey something of their personality Some are very artistic. Some are silly, and yours could win you a staycation at Sofitel Bali  Nusa Dua Beach Resort: https://sofitel.accor.com/hotel/9078/index.en.shtml

As Bali has not yet opened to international travels the staycation will be valid for six months from the opening date.

Send a picture of yourself wearing your mask - or just of the mask itself and if there is a story behind your mask, share a few          words with us. We will have a lucky draw from all entrants. The winner gets to stay inSofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort and entrants will be posted on Asian Journeys’ website: www.asianjourneys.com.sg

Send your entry to Floyd Cowan at fcowanmedia@gmail.com and stand a chance to win.
