Singapore, 19 September 2018 – Far East Hospitality, one of Singapore’s leading hotel and serviced residence operators, today announced the rebrand of the iconic Orchard Parade Hotel to Orchard Rendezvous Hotel. To commemorate the rebranding, the company has also worked with the Orchid Society of South East Asia (OSSEA) to commission an orchid for Orchard Rendezvous Hotel.
Orchard Rendezvous Hotel will be the second property under the Rendezvous brand in Singapore. Located at the end of Orchard Road, the hotel caters to travellers looking to connect with the heritage and stories of the precinct.
“The rebranding of Orchard Rendezvous Hotel," said Mr Arthur Kiong, Chief Executive Officer of Far East Hospitality, "is part of Far East Hospitality's continuous efforts to meet the demands of the growing mid-tier market. The Rendezvous brand caters to conventional travellers – those who appreciate a hotel with old-world charms. The property’s close proximity to the central area makes it an ideal location for the growing number of business travellers to Singapore; while nearby attractions, like the botanical gardens and Orchard shopping district, appeal to families."
Blending Heritage and Nature

The original hotel building was developed on a plot of old pepper plantation. Drawing inspiration from this historical significance, the interiors of the new Orchard Rendezvous Hotel has been refurbished to incorporate elements of the pepper plant. These include the delicate pepper leaf chandelier and pepper plant motif in all 388 rooms of the property.
Guests will also be able to see the commissioned orchid on Level 6 at the Outdoor Swimming Pool area. Named Vanda Orchard Rendezvous, the orchid is a two-toned cross-hybrid of Vanda Pieces of Eight and Vanda Rasri Gold. Vanda Orchard Rendezvous is also the first orchid commissioned for a hotel in Singapore by OSSEA. “As a home-grown company, we are honoured to house a commissioned national flower at our property. The Vanda Orchard Rendezvous marks a new beginning for the historical landmark as Orchard Rendezvous Hotel. It signifies our belief in creating a Singapore-inspired experience for our guests,” said Mr Kiong.
Orchard Rendezvous Hotel is also partnering local art organisation, Sense of Arts, for handmade and personalised pressed orchid products. Some examples include personalised cards and stationeries which guests can bring home and memorialise their stay in Singapore. With these combined, guests will be able to truly experience the perfect blend of history and nature at the newly rebranded Orchard Rendezvous Hotel.
Rendezvous Refresh

Further to the rebranding of Orchard Rendezvous Hotel, Far East Hospitality has also refreshed the Rendezvous brand. The revamped Rendezvous brand embraces romance of the past, present and life. The brand’s well-sited hotels connect guests to the culture, arts, food, fashion and design of the city – all of which offer guests a respite from the mundane every day to get back in touch with themselves and those dearest to them.
To reflect this refreshed stance, the Rendezvous brand introduced a new personable, yet distinguishable logo. The handwritten "R" is reminiscent of romance and nostalgia, and composed with a san-serif typeface that symbolises elegance and sophistication.
Orchard Rendezvous Hotel is the first property to reflect the refreshed Rendezvous brand and the new logo. Other properties under the brand, such as the Rendezvous Hotel Singapore, Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne, Rendezvous Hotel Perth Scarborough, Rendezvous Hotel Perth Central, Rendezvous Hotel Sydney The Rocks and Rendezvous Hotel Sydney Central will also be refreshed progressively.
