(Singapore 18 October 2022) TravMedia's International Media Marketplace (IMM) Asia 2022, presented in partnership with Tourism Australia, has set new records for attendance, with a sold-out venue and over 150 travel brands, destinations, editors, writers, broadcast journalists and influencers in attendance.
The two-day event, including The TravMedia Summit, was held at Swissôtel The Stamford Singapore and marked the event's tenth anniversary globally. Delegates participated in more than 1,200 prescheduled, one-on-one media appointments and 7.5 hours of open networking across multiple catered events.
IMM Asia is the travel industry's only global media networking event that connects travel and tourism brands with Asia Pacific's top-tier media and influencers. It provides destinations, cruise lines, hotels, tour operators and airlines the opportunity to develop stories, deepen relationships and plan media trips and collaborations for the year ahead, as the tourism industry continues its recovery.
“We are thrilled to see that the travel industry is back, better than ever after a tough couple of years, to the point where we are now oversubscribed and will need a bigger venue next year,” said Nick Wayland, founder and CEO Of TravMedia. “After two years of virtual events, we are excited to be back in Singapore in person to connect with our tourism friends, and our clients tell us that the timing is perfect for building their PR plans for the year ahead.”
For travel writers, editors and influencers, IMM is the best way to fill their notebooks with ideas, stories and contacts to make their jobs easier at a time when newsrooms are shrinking, and the appetite for content is growing.
Lilit Marcus, Editor of CNN Travel, has previously attended IMM events in New York as well as IMM Asia Virtual the last two years and says, “I get tons of invitations to press events and conferences and obviously can't attend them all. However, IMM is an exception. IMM is, without fail, a place where I get great feature ideas every single time. It is always worth going for me and one of the best events on my calendar.”
With Tourism Australia as the headline sponsor, IMM and the TravMedia Summit provide the opportunity for travel brands to network and generate earned media coverage.
“Tourism Australia has been a long-time supporter of IMM because we continually find it a great way to connect with media and ensure our stories are told across multiple platforms. As destinations compete for a stronger share of voice, the opportunity IMM offers to hear directly from key media is an invaluable tool in our marketing arsenal and allows us to meet with multiple top-tier media easily and efficiently,” said Brent Anderson, Tourism Australia's Regional General Manager South and Southeast Asia.
IMM is all about making life easier for travel writers and travel brands by bringing them together in one day, for a series of 24 one-on-one meetings and multiple networking opportunities.
IMM Asia 2022 featured top-tier media from Australia, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. The event is unrivalled in Asia for media networking.
Key sponsors for the event included Tourism Australia, Accor, Far East Hospitality- Sentosa Cluster, Spain Tourism Board, Scoot, Tourism New Zealand and AirAsia. Additional hotel partners were Four Seasons Hotel Singapore and InterContinental Singapore.
International Media Marketplace and The TravMedia Summit events are also held annually in Australia, France, Germany, North America, and the UK, connecting travel writers and travel brands globally.
TravMedia provides global travel newsfeeds and connects over 25,000 travel media and more than 20,000 travel brand PRs globally throughout the year via an online newsroom, press release distribution, events, Journalist Alerts and daily industry updates.
