The staff of The Fullerton Hotel and The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore, including our General Manager Mr. Giovanni Viterale, gathered for the celebration at the Merlion Park.

Merlion Park, Singapore, Tuesday, 15 September 2015, 11.00am. Singapore’s beloved national icon The Merlion celebrated its 43rd birthday on Tuesday, 15 September 2015. To commemorate the momentous occasion, staff from The Fullerton Hotel and The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore gathered to sing a birthday song, and celebrated with a specially created 25-inch birthday cake in the shape of a Merlion.

Despite the rain, the event attracted locals and tourists from all walks of life.

The Fullerton Postmaster Bear wowed the crowds as they gathered in a rare opportunity to wish the Merlion “Happy Birthday”. To mark the special occasion, 500 exclusive mini Merlion cupcakes as well as limited edition Merlion Floats were given away.

To spread the joy of the occasion, our hotel staff and Mr. Viterale shared mini cupcakes with the crowd.

“The Merlion is a unique icon, widely held as a must-see attraction by many of our overseas guests.” said Mr. Giovanni Viterale, General Manager of The Fullerton Heritage, (pictured above) “It also connects Singaporeans, symbolising the hopes and dreams of the nation. We are proud to share this special occasion with our guests, what a great way of remembering Merlion’s 43rd birthday.”

The hotel’s culinary team prepared 500 complimentary vanilla cupcakes topped with buttercream and a rose-flavoured Merlion chocolate.

Making a special appearance at the event, The Fullerton Postmaster Bear thrilled attendees and participated in many photo opportunities.
