Hanoi, 8 April 2020 – In response to the General Secretary cum President’s call for nationwide effort in COVID-19 prevention and control, Vietnam Airlines has launched the “Stand Together Against COVID-19 Pandemic” program to support the Government of Vietnam and its health sector in the fight against the pandemic. Accordingly, from the 9th to the 30th of April 2020, Vietnam Airlines will provide free tickets for passengers who are doctors, nurses, and medical experts on the frontlines. Furthermore, supplies for pandemic prevention and medical treatment will also be transported free of charge on the carrier’s domestic routes.
The program policy is only applicable to passengers who have been granted with business travel approvals or appropriate documents from the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, General Department of Preventive Medicine – Ministry of Health, or provincial and municipal centers for disease control and prevention. Interested agencies and departments need to provide necessary information at least two days before the estimated departure date to Vietnam Airlines’ Disease Prevention and Control team via:

To promptly facilitate the transportation of medical officers and supplies, Vietnam Airlines will give its highest priority in seat reservation and check-in procedures to eligible passengers and freight.
The “Stand Together Against COVID-19 Pandemic” program is part of Vietnam Airlines’ “Flights of Nation” campaign, in which the airline will continue to join hands to benefit the nation and its citizens. In these extraordinary circumstances, the airline continues to remain true to its commitment to conduct honorable missions as a national flag carrier, supporting the Government of Vietnam, its people and health sector in the pandemic prevention and control.
Apart from the special flights returning Vietnamese and foreign nationals home, Vietnam Airlines has been sustaining the delivery of necessities including protective gear, medical equipment and supplies, and so forth. Recently, Vietnam Airlines has transported free of charge more than three tonnes of Cho Ray Hospital’s cargo which consisted of specialized medical protective gears and face masks from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi; ten ventilators donated by Temasek Foundation International from Singapore to Vietnam; medical equipment provided by the Government and people of Vietnam to assist Laos and Cambodia; etc.
As Vietnam is now at the “golden stage” of COVID-19 fight, the flights carrying medical personnel and supplies will ensure sufficient resources are distributed across the country and help pin the faith of members of organizations, agencies and Vietnamese people on the victory over the pandemic.
