Farah and Floyd Cowan dropped into DIMPLE: An intimate escape in the heart of Bugis
(Singapore, 6 December 2024) Tucked away in the lively Bugis district, DIMPLE is making its mark on Singapore’s cocktail scene with a distinctive blend of Hong-Kong-inspired flavours and ambiance.
With seating for just 28 guests, DIMPLE is a cosy, inviting space where relationships flourish ove
“Signature Creations include the Passionfruit Martini, which is my absolute favourite,” writes Farah. It is bright, tangy and citrusy, some of the secret ingredients include passionfruit oolong-infused dry sake with sea salt foam. This refreshing tipple is made with Tanqueray No 10 Gin, mint, and citrus, topped with a generous helping of housemade passion fruit.

Another standout is the Mango Spicy Margarita, (above) a vibrant mix of Don Ramon Reposado Tequila, mango peel oleo saccharum, and a kick of bird’s eye chilli, balanced with house-made salted caramel and a refreshing mango and lime sorbet for a bold, zesty finish.
These unique cocktails are complemented by Hong Kong-inspired bar bites such as curry fish balls and siu mai with chilli soy sauce, bringing the spirit of Hong Kong’s street food culture to Singapore. “We envisioned DIMPLE as a place that recreates the hospitality values we hold dear to our hearts,” says co-founder Anoop Kalloor, who brings over 15 years of experience in the bar and restaurant industry. “We want our guests to feel at home in a cosy space that celebrates Hong Kong’s food and drink heritage.”
Natalie Siu, co-founder and Hong Kong native, adds, “By blending traditional flavours and heartfelt hospitality, we offer a unique experience that resonates with guests on a personal level. DIMPLE isn’t just a bar—it’s a place where guests can connect.”
Located at NuVe Group boutique hotel it is like a lobby bar without the lobby. Guests get a 15% discount on drinks upon presentation of their keycard.
Cherry Manhattan
Weather hotel guests or walk-ins (no reservations are taken) everyone has a front-row view of cocktail craftsmanship. Passersby drawn in by the lure of the “DIMPLE” sign, step into a long, narrow bar where the warm buzz of conversation welcomes them. With a strong emphasis on personal service, the DIMPLE team engages with each guest, ensuring a tailored experience whether patrons seek a lively conversation or a quiet evening.
According to Head Bartender Marcus Liow, “In traditional Asian folklore, dimples are symbols of good fortune and prosperity. At DIMPLE, those ‘small impressions’ are the smiles that guests take with them as they leave—always glad they came and eager to return, perhaps with new friends.”
Lapsan Souchong Negroni
At Dimple, they believe the most unforgettable experiences are those shared with loved ones. The bar offers an inviting and nurturing space where relationships flourish over exquisite cocktails and delectable small dishes. The fruity concoctions aren’t just beverages—they’re vibrant, flavourful stories waiting to be shared.
FABULOUS & EXOTIC.
Other favourites are just as intriguing as the Passionfruit Martini, Farah notes. The Cherry Manhattan, Hazelnut Old Fashioned with homemade chocolate truffle and Lapsang Souchong Negroni Marcus will delight you. Take the time to chat with the staff. They will talk about their creations and describe all the passion that has gone into creating a wonderful menu. If you like cocktails, you will love Dimples cocktails, all of which have been created in-house.
