Singapore, 7 December 2018 – PARKROYAL on Pickering, the eco-chic hotel located in the heart of Chinatown, has been recognised as the World’s Leading Green City Hotel at the World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony held in Lisbon, Portugal.
Critically acclaimed for its hotel-in-a-garden concept, PARKROYAL on Pickering is at the forefront of sustainability initiatives for the hospitality sector in Singapore and across the world. Going a step beyond its own sustainability initiatives, PARKROYAL on Pickering supports causes that advocate social and environmental responsibility. Since 2017, the hotel has joined hands with Asia’s Conscious Festival and platform Green is the New Black as the event’s official hotel partner; providing like-minded conscious individuals and businesses with a venue to network and connect.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the World Travel Awards has long been recognised globally as the hallmark of quality in the travel tourism and hospitality industry. Voted by travel and tourism professionals across the globe, winners are often seen as the industry standard in their respective fields to which all others aspire.
Ms. Jeane Lim, General Manager of PARKROYAL on Pickering, said: “We are delighted to win this prestigious award for the very first time despite the stiff competition. The World Travel Awards is the pinnacle of awards in our industry and receiving the title of World’s Leading Green City Hotel is a true testament to our efforts in continuously sustaining and further developing our green credentials.”
