Singapore, 4 October 2018 – Yesterday saw Vietjet operate a special relief flight carrying seven tonnes of aid for those in need after the earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia.
The flight, themed ‘Love Connection’ landed in Jakarta with items including canned foods, blankets, and other necessities to support the affected people in the area. The flight was made possible from voluntary donations collected across the airline. The twin quake-tsunami disaster relief comes after Vietjet operated two flights transporting relief cargo, as well as taking Vietnamese victims home safely after the 2013 super typhoon named Haiyan, which destroyed many cities in the Philippines. The airline also organized many relief flights to Vietnam’s central region after the floods and conducted the initiative “Spread the Love”, which saw Vietjet fly people who couldn’t make it home to celebrate the Lunar New Year holidays.
Vietjet is committed to helping those in need and will continue to support relief efforts for disaster-hit areas.
