BLUE PARTY 2019 - G BALL BY G HOTEL

 29 March 2019, Penang - G Hotel organised its 11th annual corporate appreciation dinner, G Ball 2019 themed in blue at G Hotel Gurney’s Grand Ballroom. Attending corporate guests and media partners were treated to a 5-course dinner, stellar impersonator performances, an exciting dance performance by the Sales and Marketing department as well as a lucky draw with enticing prizes.

This year’s G Ball hosted over 300 corporate guests, media partners and business agents all dressed to impress. Blue, the theme of the night was highlighted in the décor of the ballroom, finishing touches as well as the dress code for the night. The evening began with pre-cocktail where the blue carpet was rolled out for an elegant entry and two registration tables to welcome invited attendees. To the right, an Insta photobooth was setup for a fun and playful photography session with friends and attendees of the night.

As everyone mingled in clusters towards the Ballroom Foyer, each was served with light snacks on cocktail tables, as well as free flow beer, red and white wines, and magical cocktails- Infinity and Blue Affair at the minibar. Infinity is a classic cocktail concocted with vodka, lime juice, ginger ale and lime wedges, while Blue Affair was made with Havana Club rum, muddled fresh sweet plum, Monin Blue Lagoon syrup and 7-up for a refreshing kick.

As the dinner commenced, guests were ushered into the ballroom decorated with different shades of blue in the décor, wall draping and lighting which illuminated on the disco ball creating an atmosphere well suited to the theme of the night. Upon walking in, distinguished guests were then seated along the round tables that were decorated with sequined table cloth, fresh chrysanthemums, white tea candles and a set of fine dining utensil set for each person. Once everyone was seated, the night officially kicked off with Mirror Man Dancers from Kuala Lumpur. A welcome speech was presented by Mr Michael Hanratty, General Manager of G Hotel who welcomed all guests and cherished all the support given through the years. The speech was then followed by Live Band Performances, Impersonation Dance Shows of Madonna, Tina Turner and Whitney Houston and lucky draw sessions. The emcee then proceeds to interact with the guests during a pop quiz session whereby they were required to make a correct guess on the sound played. In addition, attendees of the night were also presented with a surprising dance performance by the Sales & Events Team of G Hotel. All the guests then joined in on the fun and danced to music from the 70s & 80s.

Simultaneously, the course dinner prepared by G Hotel’s own banquet team started with the serving of Grilled Scallops on Puy Lentil Stew, Torched Melon Salad, Basil and Pepper Citrus Cream as the appetiser. Followed by Cream of Zucchini and Garbanzo Velour with Caramelised Onion and Aioli Oil, a palate cleanser of Yuzu with Mint Oil and the delectable main course of Oven Roasted Chicken, Squid Ink and Basilica Oil Pasta with Ratatouille and Mushroom Sauce. The course dinner finished perfectly with a decadent White Chocolate Lava Cake with Dark Sweet Cherries as well as a Box of Surprise filled with sweets and chocolates.

One of the long awaited highlights of the night includes the lucky draw with a total of 20 attractive prizes waiting to be won by lucky attendees. The grand prize of the draw was a round-trip business class air ticket from Penang to Hong Kong sponsored by Cathay Pacific. The second prize of the night was a Hugo Boss Messenger Bag sponsored by Hugo Boss Malaysia followed by the third prize of the night, a round-trip economy class air ticket from Penang to Guangzhou sponsored by China Southern Airlines. There were other numerous prizes for the night including spa treatments, hotel stays, bags, jewelleries, Ipad, luggage bags and flight tickets. Another thrilling part of the night is the announcement of the “Best Dressed” for the gentleman and lady, which was presented to Mr. Glenn Todd and Ms. Priscilla Dawson respectively along with a prize sponsored by Trinity Events for their stunning attire fitted to the theme of the night.
