(Singapore, 2 June 2021) British Airways has announced that its first passenger flight since late December 2020  departed from Singapore to London Heathrow on 2 June 2021.

Following the governments relaxation on international travel in both Singapore and the UK, many people will be planning to return to Singapore at the earliest opportunity. Families and friends who have been kept apart due to Covid-19 will also be preparing to reunite with their loved ones.

Noella Ferns, (pictured right) British Airways’ Head of Sales, Asia Pacific, said: “We can’t wait to welcome our customers onboard our flights from Singapore to London Heathrow again, and are delighted to be able to reunite families and friends with their loved ones after such a long time apart.

“The safety of our customers and colleagues has always been at the heart of everything we do. We have also introduced a range of precautionary measures to provide stress and hassle-free travel.”

The airline’s teams finalised preparations to ensure that the first trip many of their customers have made in a while was as comfortable and convenient as possible. With the protective measures on the ground and in the air, they could be reassured they would be safe every step of the way.

British Airways has recently partnered with Dettol to offer a range of products to keep its customers and colleagues safe in the air and on ground. The airline is cleaning all key surfaces including seats, screens, seat buckles and tray tables after every flight and each aircraft is completely cleaned from nose to tail every day. The air on all British Airways flights is fully recycled once every two to three minutes through HEPA filters, which remove microscopic bacteria and virus clusters clusters with over 99.9% efficiency, equivalent to hospital operating theatre standards. Both one-way and return tickets between London Heathrow and Singapore are now available to book on ba.com, with fares starting from SG$1005.

British Airways’ Book With Confidence commitment means those planning trips have the option to change their booking date and destination or even cancel it completely.
