Taratata Brasserie opened in 2011 offering patrons a French cuisine experience and warm service. Located at 35A Keong Saik Road it is reminiscent of a typical Parisian establishment with burgundy built in bench seating and black and white photos on the walls.

Taratata Brasserie Chef / Owner Bertrand Raguin’s culinary philosophy is that “every dish is the materialisation of a vision and harmonisation of various ingredients and piquancy with time honoured classics”. Food makes him happy and he “wants to make other people happy with my food”.

Chef Bertrand welcomes the Autumn Winter Season with the launch of his carefully curated Lunch and Dinner Set Menus to complement the full a la carte menu. Lunch presents the option of either the 2-course ($38++) or 3-course menu ($45++).

Mike Smith and a group of media friends had the pleasure of sharing a selection of lunchtime dishes, from all the menu options with a nice glass of Chablis. We started off with Mike’s favourite; oysters! In this instance live majestic oysters size number 2 which were superb. The appetizers in general were excellent with the tuna tartare served with buckwheat pancake and avocado spread (pictured below) and the duck foie gras with dark cherries (pictured above) particularly standing out.

The Beef Bourguignon prepared with red wine over seven days and the hearty French classic duck confit were both delicious mains.

Desserts are an integral part of a traditional French meal. The star of the show without doubt was the Grand Marnier crepe Suzette flamed dessert (pictured top) prepared with flair at the table. The strawberry milles-feuilles were a big favourite too and a great way to end a very enjoyable, leisurely Taratata lunch.
