SINGAPORE – Set to inspire the Southeast Asian food & beverage markets, Speciality & Fine Food Asia (SFFA) will bring together global exhibitors, incredible leading chefs, hospitality industry experts, and a plethora of exciting industry events such as panel discussions and live demonstrations to Singapore from 18 to 20 July. Taking place at Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, the eagerly-awaited show incorporates Speciality Chocolate Asia, and will take place alongside Restaurant, Pub & Bar Asia – a brand new trade show created in response to the demand from the industry. The trade-only events have been designed to be a focused, thoughtful set-up that is primed for creating the right connections between suppliers and trade buyers and inspire all with new ideas, talks and live demonstrations.SFFA is pleased to announce that Chef Ray Adriansyah from award-winning restaurant Locavore in Bali, Indonesia will be headlining the show. Known for their use of sustainably sourced local ingredients to create modern dishes with both European and Indonesian influences, Chef Ray together with Chef Eelke Plasmeijer have established Locavore as one of the hottest dining tickets in Asia. They were recently named ‘Best Restaurant in Indonesia’ at Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards 2017, with a ranking of #22. Adding to the vibrancy of the world-class event is Jeremy Nguee, a well-known chef and food personality in Singapore behind F&B solutions company, Preparazzi, who will serve as host of Fine Food Live throughout the three-day trade show.
As a focal point of the show, Fine Food Live is a demo theatre packed with ideas and practical menu and cooking tips to help bring you more customers and increase profits. Each day in the Fine Food Live theatre, top chefs from across Southeast Asia will demonstrate their cooking skills to inspire and inform attendees. These sessions will cover topical issues such as sustainability and provenance from the best in the business, coupled with practical advice on menu development and key industry trends. In addition to Chef Ray Adriansyah, leading chefs presenting at Fine Food Live will include top names such as Chef Sam Aisbett (Whitegrass), Chef LG Han (Labyrinth, Singapore), Chef Shermay Lee (Shermay’s Singapore Fine Foods, Singapore), and Chef Jennifer Lee (Vasco, Singapore).
Over 120 exhibitors from Southeast Asia, Europe and Australia will be showcasing their products at SFFA 2017 – notably, 200 Great Taste award winning products will be brought in – as a result of a partnership with the Great Taste awards, the globally recognised benchmark for the world’s best food and drink – many of which are being introduced into the region for the first time. Respected artisans, gourmet producers, and speciality brands will be exhibiting thousands of products across categories such as health & functional foods (including organic, free-from products, etc), meat, coffee & tea, seafood & fish, sauces & condiments, jams & preserves and many more.
A popular feature at the London show and poised to be one at SFFA is Start-Up Village – a zone dedicated to up-and-coming artisan food producers that have been established for less than three years. This intimate space allows visitors to discover fresh and exciting brands that are brimming with creativity, passion and entrepreneurial flair, with opportunities to be among the first to stock the very latest products in the market. For visitors running small or medium sized businesses, make sure to stop by the Business Mentoring Area, a valuable platform providing solutions and practical advice on a wide range of topics, which will be helmed by various industry-leading business consultants.
Another cornerstone of SFFA will be panel discussions with industry experts. Centred on hot topics such as Sustainability, Future Trends and Retail / B2B eCommerce, these daily sessions will be moderated by veteran food journalist, Annette Tan. SFFA’s unrivalled line-up with the region’s leading names in hospitality and F&B makes it a must-visit for trade buyers from retail, foodservice, travel, import, wholesale and distribution across Southeast Asia.
